Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the convenience of online reading and the potential health impacts, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the claim that 'everything' will be available 'without paying' is an overgeneralization that is not fully explored or challenged. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis of why printed media might persist (e.g., tactile preference, collector value, or digital divide issues) rather than just listing general points. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On Other hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Another adequate reason by objection'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in a more sophisticated manner would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'books', 'newspapers', and 'online'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'chunk of masses' (which is non-standard) and 'effect our mental health' (where 'affect' is the correct verb). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of variety and the presence of these errors limit the score. Expanding your range to include more academic collocations and synonyms would significantly improve your lexical profile.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in modern era'), incorrect pluralization (e.g., 'photo's'), and subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'their interacting would reduced'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the correct use of articles, verb tenses, and plural forms, before attempting more complex grammatical patterns.
