Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing an opinion on the future of printed media versus online content. However, the development is limited and lacks depth. The argument is somewhat contradictory, as you initially agree that everything will be free, but later acknowledge that internet access requires payment. The ideas are presented in a fragmented manner, and the response fails to fully explore the implications of the prompt, such as the cultural or educational value of physical books. To improve, ensure your position is consistent and provide more detailed explanations for your claims rather than listing brief, disconnected points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the ideas are presented in a single, unorganized block of text. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'but' and 'because' to link ideas. Paragraphing is absent, which makes the progression of your argument difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you must organize your response into distinct paragraphs—an introduction, body paragraphs with clear topic sentences, and a conclusion—and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple words like 'things', 'good', and 'search'. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'preivous', 'opionon', 'intriduced', and 'thibk', which occasionally impede readability. You attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'research' and 'historical', but the range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, focus on learning synonyms for common words and pay closer attention to spelling. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations will help you convey your arguments more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that often cause difficulty for the reader. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'one think that i am disagree for it that is you have to buy first internet'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capital letters and misplaced periods. While you attempt to use some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammatical rules prevents the communication of these ideas clearly. Focus on mastering simple sentence structures before attempting more complex ones.
