Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 86 words. This failure to meet the minimum length requirement severely limits the development of your ideas. While you attempt to introduce the topic, you do not clearly state your position on whether you agree or disagree with the statement, nor do you provide sufficient supporting arguments. The response is incomplete and fails to address the prompt in a meaningful way. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide a clear, well-supported argument for each point you raise.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text lacks a clear logical progression. While you attempt to use a transition phrase like 'to begin with', the overall structure is fragmented. The paragraphing is insufficient, and the lack of a clear introduction, body, and conclusion makes the text difficult to follow. The ideas are not connected effectively, and the overall arrangement is incoherent due to the brevity and lack of development. You need to focus on organizing your thoughts into distinct paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence and supporting details, linked by appropriate cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'discuse' instead of 'discussed' and 'serval' instead of 'several'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the phrasing is often awkward or unclear. To improve, you should practice using a wider range of academic vocabulary and ensure you check your spelling. Focus on learning collocations and using words in their correct context to enhance the precision of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as the run-on sentences and fragments in the first paragraph. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters and incorrect sentence boundaries. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on improving your control over punctuation and complex sentence forms.
