Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for the shift to digital media, the argument regarding the 'free' nature of online content is not fully explored or challenged. The position is clear, but some points, such as the survey mention, lack sufficient detail to be fully convincing. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly relates to the prompt's premise about cost and the future of physical media.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore', the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between the survey and the argument about budget-friendly options is disjointed. Improving the use of linking words to show contrast and cause-effect relationships would enhance the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural collocations and word choice errors, such as 'spread its wings all around the world at rapid pace' and 'agree up to the largest sent'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the repetition of phrases like 'unlimited knowledge' and 'budget-friendly' limits the range. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that word combinations sound natural in an English context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'internet provide'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'The people are concerned to great'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for common errors like pluralization and preposition usage to improve accuracy.
