Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this world, Nobody wants to spend their money on physical newspaper or books, because everything is available online. I am partly agree.

A section of society believe that, physical newspaper and books are much butter than online. You can read easily from newspaper. If their is anything important printed you can mark easily. Moreover, newspaper is not expensive, it is only for 10 rupees, everyone can bought that easily. People can easily carry books and newspaper in their hands. If the newspaper and books are not printed then some people face unemployent as well, those who worked in printing press.

On the other hand, reading books and newspaper online is expensive as compaered to physical books . People can face eye problems if they ready long time on mobile phones or laoptop, that will reduse indiviuals eyesight.People can read whenever and where they want. It is convenient but you will face bettery problem. For example, one day my friend visited us and she started reading book online in her journey after some time her laptop bettery died and she lost her interest. She even lost that page where she was reading.

In conclusion, i would say both have some benefits and drawbacks as well. Its depend on everyones taste how they wants to read newspaper or books.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address the prompt by presenting a balanced view, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the point regarding unemployment in the printing industry is mentioned but not explored. The position is clear, but the lack of length prevents a full exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand your supporting arguments with more detailed explanations and relevant examples to ensure the response is sufficiently comprehensive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the transition between your arguments is smoother. Improving the logical progression within paragraphs will also help clarify your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good', 'expensive', and 'easy'. There are also some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'butter' instead of 'better', 'compaered' instead of 'compared', and 'bettery' instead of 'battery'. To improve, you should aim to use more precise and varied vocabulary. Instead of repeating simple adjectives, try to incorporate topic-specific collocations related to digital media and traditional publishing to demonstrate a more sophisticated range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I am partly agree' (should be 'I partly agree'), 'If their is anything' (should be 'If there is'), and 'everyone can bought that' (should be 'everyone can buy that'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms, and proofreading for basic spelling errors. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
