Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 103 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, the task is only partially addressed. The position is stated in the introduction, but the development of ideas is severely limited due to the lack of length. To improve, you must complete the essay by providing fully developed arguments, examples, and a clear conclusion. Currently, the response fails to provide the necessary depth to meet the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some basic logical progression in the introduction and the start of the first body paragraph. However, because the text is incomplete and lacks a proper conclusion, the overall structure is not fully realised. Cohesive devices are used in a very limited way, such as 'whereas' and 'because of'. To achieve a higher band, you need to ensure that your ideas are organised into distinct, well-developed paragraphs with a clear introduction, supporting body paragraphs, and a summary conclusion, using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the limited content provided, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. Phrases like 'Advancement of technology' and 'freely available' are functional but repetitive. There are also minor errors, such as 'in the from of' (should be 'in the form of') and 'news paper' (should be 'newspapers'). To improve, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'digital transformation' or 'accessibility of information', and ensure accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors, such as 'in near future' (missing 'the'), 'invest the money on' (incorrect preposition), and 'the user need to pay' (subject-verb agreement error: 'users need'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to affect the overall quality. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles.
