IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In coming days none will purchase printed materials like newspapers or books because of the availability to read through e-books without paying any cost. I strongly agree this advancement in techology and saving ecosystem will benift both the consumer and economy as a whole.

With rapid advancement in techology most developing countries are encouraging e-books in schools and universities. These are helpful as it saves a lot of money in buying expensive book of well known authors. These online books can also be read by downloading them and referred to later. These are easily available online rather than waiting to get them in the library. Secondly, it has also eliminated waiting period for instance, we wait for the newspaper to be delivered in the mornings at our doorsteps rather we get these news online everyday through the newspaper apps or website. These developments have greatly impacted the use of technology.

Furthermore, the ecosystem is preserved saving trees and this has improved climate conditions. This benefits both the consumer and economy..

In most modernized and developing countries, they have accepted the online books and newspapers as the cost is elimated and reading at ones pace. Most libraries encourage professional graduates to read books at the free time as there's no deadline to return them. One of the advantage is that people can read online books during their leisure time for example, during break time or while having coffee or just before going to bed.

In conclusion, online books captures a wider audiences over printed books as they are available to read at ones time without any time limit of returning them. The other advantage is we do not need to buy books that are in demand that cost a boom.
