Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. While you provide reasons for your agreement, such as the convenience of digital access and cost-saving, the arguments lack depth and nuance. For instance, the example regarding the '19s era' is confusing and does not effectively support the argument about the future of printed media. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more logical analysis rather than just stating that people prefer free online content. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion', the transitions between sentences are frequently mechanical or unclear. For example, the shift from discussing smartphones to the '19s era' lacks a logical connection, making the progression of your argument difficult to follow. Additionally, referencing is sometimes ambiguous, such as in the phrase 'this situation make everyone frustrated', where the antecedent is not clearly defined. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'every think is digitalized' (everything is digitized), 'more touch in technology' (more in touch with technology), and 'quality of time' (valuable time). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more academic collocations related to the topic of technology and media.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every think is', 'this situation make'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'I totally agree which this statement'). You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'why they invest their money rather than go website'. To improve, you need to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tenses and prepositions. Proofreading for common errors like missing plurals and incorrect word forms will help improve your score.
