IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
With the advancement of technology, there is a ongoing debate among peoples that using wireless media to read books rather than physical books are more time efficient or sustainable approach towards environment rather than traditional method of reading physical books. In my perspective, this technology has more advantages and I am completely agree with the given statement.
To commence with, online books are more eco-friendly. To elaborate, the deforestation of forest has been significantly decreased with low in demand of paper. As result, it helps to reduce the global warming and climatic change. Moreover, e-books are more portable. Thus, readers can easily access it anywhere such as during commuting or transportation.
Nonetheless, electronic books are more affordable and interactive. To simplify it, this books are easily accessible and afford by general public. Furthermore, this book provide short notification which let individual consistently engaged with the topic or book. Additionally, there are glossary and highlighting icons available which becomes the second most prominent reason to choose e-books.
To wrap up, while there are significant advantages of using printed magazenes or books which helps local ventures but still e-books are more reliable, affordable or interactive which attracted the younger generation to a great extent. So, it is undeniable that in the upcoming time books will be easily replaced by electronic media.
