Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments focus exclusively on 'time' and 'money' without exploring the broader implications of the shift to digital media, such as the loss of physical archives, the quality of information, or the cultural significance of printed books. The ideas are somewhat over-generalized, and the supporting examples, such as the mention of students in Nepal, are brief and lack depth. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments and explore the counter-perspective to demonstrate a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'Meanwhile, through the use of it' and 'Likewise people can get' feel forced and do not always connect ideas logically. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'it' to refer to broad concepts. While there is an attempt at logical progression, the transitions between sentences are often repetitive, relying heavily on simple connectors that do not always enhance the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is significant repetition of basic terms like 'books', 'newspaper', 'money', and 'save'. Some word choices are unnatural or incorrect, such as 'find outs' instead of 'find' and 'save the capital' instead of 'save money'. The essay relies on a limited set of functional words, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, you should focus on using synonyms and more precise collocations to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it will saves', 'it helps to save'), incorrect pluralization ('peoples', 'everything books'), and awkward phrasing ('the it saves the time'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction is often clunky. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic agreement errors would be highly beneficial.
