There is an ongoing debate about the ways of reading in the near future. Although some people believe that technology might be beneficial for leaning, others content that it might have a negative impact on society. I strongly agree that online platforms will be beneficial because will encourage reading habits and will provide a flexibility for learning.
On one hand, today's society is relying on modern technology to perform daily activities with the assistance of new technologies. Due to the widespread acceleration of internet, current society is being supported by digital devices, online platforms and the use of daily internet to assist every day activities. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the essay lacks a counter-argument or a conclusion, and the body paragraph is underdeveloped. You mention that online platforms will encourage reading, but you do not provide specific examples or logical reasoning to support this claim. To improve, you must expand your arguments with concrete evidence and ensure you address all parts of the prompt, including the 'without paying' aspect, which you currently ignore. The essay is incomplete, preventing a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'On one hand' and 'Furthermore'. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of a full essay structure. The paragraphing is insufficient, as the response ends abruptly after only one body paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or repetitive. To improve, focus on creating a clear introduction, at least two well-developed body paragraphs with distinct main ideas, and a concluding summary. Ensure that each sentence flows logically into the next to improve the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'digital devices' and 'academic platforms', but there are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'ways of reading' instead of 'reading habits' or 'methods of accessing information'. There are also minor errors, such as 'leaning' instead of 'learning' and 'a decreased on paper-based readers' (should be 'a decrease in'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'others content that' should be 'others contend that', and 'will provide a flexibility' is grammatically incorrect. You also have issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'decline on their incomes'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits your score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
