Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, though the development of ideas is somewhat limited. You discuss the benefits of online media and the drawback of the digital divide (network barriers). However, the argument that nobody will pay for printed materials is not fully explored; you focus more on the accessibility of online content rather than the economic shift away from paid media. To reach a higher band, ensure that all parts of the prompt—specifically the 'without paying' aspect—are addressed with more depth and specific examples. The conclusion is also incomplete, trailing off without a final summary sentence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'as the results' are used incorrectly to link ideas. There are also issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, which disrupts the flow of the text. While there is a logical progression from the advantages to the disadvantages, the transitions between sentences are often abrupt, making the overall cohesion feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'improvement in Technology' and 'good reading'. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'upcoming of an improvement' and 'time consuming' (which is used incorrectly here, as you likely meant 'time-saving'). Additionally, there are frequent errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'Citizens who stays' and 'provisions of internet'. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Citizens who stays'), incorrect article usage, and persistent punctuation errors (e.g., missing spaces after punctuation). The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the misuse of 'as the results' as a cohesive link indicates a lack of control over complex grammatical structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation and subject-verb agreement errors.
