Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the ability to develop ideas. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence in the second paragraph. Because the response is less than 150 words, it is impossible to fully address all parts of the task or provide the necessary supporting arguments required for a higher band. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words by fully expanding on your points with examples and explanations, and ensure the essay reaches a logical conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using a clear introduction and a body paragraph. However, the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Thus' and 'Although' are used, but the text is too short to demonstrate a full range of linking words or effective paragraphing. The incomplete nature of the second paragraph disrupts the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your sentences and paragraphs more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, with terms like 'wide adoption', 'abolished', and 'demise'. However, the range is limited due to the brevity of the response. There are some minor errors, such as 'the major why many people', which is grammatically incomplete and lacks the necessary noun. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations, while ensuring that your word choices are grammatically integrated into your sentences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are several grammatical errors in the text. For example, 'I completely agree with view' is missing an article ('the'), and 'not will it cost less' is an incorrect inversion. The sentence 'Although cost is the major why many people , there is another motive' is incomplete and lacks a main clause. While you attempt some complex structures, the frequent errors and the unfinished nature of the sentences hinder clarity. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for missing words and correct word order.
