Student answer (Band 5.5)

The ongoing debate on upcoming advancement in technology will mitigate physcial reading. In upcoming days there will be no need to print nootbooks and news paper due to widely avilable online and we will read them without single peny. I strongly believe that books and newspapers will be prefer to read online but we cannot reject learning through printed books.

Due to the technological innovation printing need will be aliviate and mostly people choose to read and learn through internt without paying large amount of money. For example in Finland 90% schools provide digital books to learn using audio visual aids and understand wider concepts at early stage and did not paying money to buy books because metrial is free online. They involve adolecents in digital tools that they will be able to survive with new advance tools and innivation using in education and learn effectively. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the shift toward digital media and the potential survival of physical books. However, the development is inconsistent. While you provide a relevant example regarding Finland, the connection to the prompt's specific claim about 'not paying' is slightly underdeveloped. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth in explaining why some people might still prefer physical media beyond simple therapeutic benefits. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more nuanced reasoning rather than just listing general observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'in upcoming days' and 'the future innovation will be climbe' are used awkwardly, which disrupts the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') more naturally to connect your sentences and arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task but limited. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'physcial', 'nootbooks', 'aliviate', 'internt', 'covinient', 'knwledge') and some word choice issues, such as 'climbe' and 'forgranted'. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone required for an Academic Task 2 essay. You should focus on proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes and attempt to use more precise, academic collocations to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'innovations will be increase'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'did not paying money'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
