Student answer (Band 6.0)
the development of the internet has changed the way people assess information through phone. Some believes that in future printed newspaper and books will completely disappear because people can read information online free. I partially agree with this statement as online reading is become increasing popularly, but I do not believe the printed material will Disappear completely. There are several reasons why online reading may become more common. Firstly, the internet provide quick and easy access to read huge amount of information. People can read news article and digital books using their phones or computer without carrying heavy books or newspaper. Secondly, many website and application provide free content which is attractive to people who want to save money. Moreover, online information can be updated immediately while printed newspaper may become outdated with a short time, however, printed books and newspaper still have some important advantage. Many people prefer reading printed book because they find them more comfortable and easier to concentrate on. In addition, some reader enjoy the physical experience of owning and collecting books printed material can also be useful when people do not have access to the internet or electronic device for more not all online content is free some reliable newspaper and publish your required readers to pay for subscription, all thought online reading is likely to reduce the demand for printed newspaper and books, but I disagree that they will disappear completely. Both digital and printed form are likely to exist future with people choosing between them according to their preference and needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the writer partially agrees with the statement. The arguments for both sides—the convenience of digital media and the enduring value of physical books—are relevant and logically extended. However, the development is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, the writer could provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of why certain demographics might prefer physical media, rather than just stating it is 'more comfortable'. The position remains consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' are used to guide the reader through the arguments. However, the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical, and there is a lack of sophisticated referencing. For instance, the final paragraph is a single long block that could benefit from better sentence-level cohesion to avoid the feeling of a list of points. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'subscription' and 'digital form'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'assess information' (likely meant 'access'), 'is become increasing popularly' (should be 'is becoming increasingly popular'), and 'publish your' (likely meant 'publishers'). These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range and occasional inaccuracy in collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('the internet provide', 'Some believes') and punctuation. The lack of proper sentence boundaries, especially in the final paragraph, makes the text feel rushed. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control is inconsistent. To improve, the writer should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, such as ensuring verbs agree with their subjects and using periods to separate distinct thoughts.
