Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention that online reading is more convenient and cost-effective, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention 'social media is also working like newspaper' but do not explain how this replaces the need for professional journalism or books. The ideas are somewhat circular, focusing repeatedly on the convenience of phones rather than exploring the nuances of the statement, such as the cultural value of physical books or the reliability of online sources. To improve, aim to provide more distinct, well-supported arguments in each paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often repetitive, and the use of cohesive devices is mechanical. Phrases like 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore' are used frequently, sometimes in ways that do not logically connect the sentences. There are also issues with referencing; for example, 'that things happen around us' is vague. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph introduces a new, distinct point rather than restating the same idea about convenience in different words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic words like 'read', 'newspaper', and 'internet'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'newsapers', 'grear', 'intreset', 'enhence', and 'purcheasing', which occasionally make the text difficult to read. You also struggle with word forms and collocations, such as 'gain our intreset' instead of 'capture our interest' or 'increase our interest'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more academic and precise terms related to technology and media, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('they has facalities', 'it change the way', 'whatever we wants'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures, and punctuation is often missing or incorrect. For example, 'It was a boring for people to read a lot s pages' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Reducing the number of errors is essential for a higher score.
