IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Future of the smart gadgets are brighter. Every new system came into an existence are based on new technologies. New things replaced the existing one. The books and newspapers were used by people in past years to gather information. But it seems they will disappear in coming years. I strongly believe that the advanced mobiles, computers, watches and many other digital tool, steeply halt the use of printed books and newspapers.

The current era is fully filled with enormous amount of electronic devices. They all support the wi-fi, artificial intelligence, high quality resolution screens and many other advanced features. People carrying smart mobile phones, tablets, watches, and digital pens.

The globally connected devices can fetch a vast range of data from any destination over the world. When individual wants, at any time , at any place without annoying or seeking help from others.

In universities the libraries implemented the network of computers where students came and study their thesis books ,magazine and articles etc. They have no need to pass over every page and read the desired topic. Once, they write the specific page number or a title of any topic. The system brings them to that exact location, without getting exhausted, frustrated and tired. Where as, The printed books or any printed reading material took a lot of effort like we need to produced a huge amount of papers by cutting trees, that passes through multiple processes and paper came into an existence. then the text will written on it and then multiples copies are generated, then they will passed over the cities via different postmen.

In conclusion, the electronic devices are more feasible to use at any time then reading newspapers and books. So in every aspect the digital data is more in demand. Hence the tangible sources of reading will lose their identity, and people prefer to but smart tools instead of buying them.

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'tangible sources', 'feasible', and 'enormous amount'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Future of the smart gadgets are brighter' (should be 'The future of smart gadgets is brighter') and 'steeply halt' (which is not a standard collocation). Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'people prefer to but smart tools' (should be 'buy'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors.
