IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Technology made a significant difference in our daily routine. Online platform will be more popular as compared to newspaper in future. I largely agree with this notion due to some obvious features of online media however, I also believe that there are numerous advantages of printed media such as, physical copies and reliability.

To initiate, technological advancements made everything convenient and accessible from every corner of the earth. The main reason that it will gain more popularity in future is that it is free of cost. For instance, if we compare the cost there are many news channel which are funded and any one can access that without paying anything whereas, people needs to paper to buy newspaper.

Moreover, the accessibility makes a difference. Online channel can be accessed from anywhere from a mobile phone. There are information stored in the web which can be retrieve whenever we want to use. Also, it is convenient if someone not able to write they can use the features like translation or the speaking tools in that way AI will prompt what they are looking for.

Nevertheless, there are various advantages of online media. One of the benefit of printed newspaper is reliability. The information on that is printed in the newspaper is accurate and reliable which can be used to present as a lawful evidence in case of legal matters. In addition to this, the information on this media cannot be changed by anyone which maintain the authenticity of the information.

To conclude, I majorly agree with the notion that online media will replace the traditional form of printed media as, it gives people opportunity to access the information whenever it is published. But, there is more accurate information revealed in the newspaper.
