Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that printed media will disappear. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide reasons for both sides, the arguments regarding 'social value' and 'memories' are a bit abstract and could be better supported with more concrete examples or logical elaboration. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is inconsistent, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and more detailed supporting evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices like 'First', 'Secondly', 'Furthermore', and 'However' to signal transitions. However, the flow is sometimes interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical use of these connectors. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'printed books and newspapers and there own values', where the grammar obscures the connection. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'online media', 'printed books', and 'social media'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'access able' (accessible), 'quits' (quotes/excerpts), and 'cut able' (cuttable). These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to follow. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more sophisticated synonyms for common words to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'online media always get offers'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'will replaced'), and misuse of articles and prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and sentence fragments. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your argument, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and clarity of the writing.
