IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
It's argued about the printed newspapers or books will become less in the future and no one will buy it because simply they can read it online. I totally agree with this because nowaday Social media provides you by all information you need online.
On the one hand , online newspaper and books are more conviniant and you can acesibilty for them so you can easily reach to a wide range of news not just limited in your country also other countries. people can easily have acess by smartphones, tablet and computers without readin any need to buy the print one. In addtion, people can share thier opinion freely on social media platforms and share thier honest experience not only but also reading online let you free to choose which jornal you want to read for and which author or writer you want to read from. Some newspapers are completly free and other could be with fees, but also it will be less than the printed one.
On the other hand, the main reason why I agree that online content is often cheaper than printed one. people don't need to buy a new paper everyday to keep updated because alot of websites and applications provide it for free. In terms of books, you can find a online library contain all you want and also you can be able to read the reviews easily it will help you to choose what suits you. Furthermore, sometimes you couldnt find the printed newspaper everyday so you have to go a further shop to buy it but nowadays you don't need to do this.
To recapitulate, online reading news or books it saves alot of time, effort and money that the printed one so for these reasons I strongly agree.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of the shift to online media. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second and third paragraphs, which both focus heavily on the cost and convenience of online content. To reach a higher band, you should provide more distinct arguments, such as the environmental impact of paper production or the interactive nature of digital media, rather than repeating the same points about cost and accessibility. The conclusion is clear, but the overall argument lacks depth and nuance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To recapitulate'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the awkward phrasing 'not only but also reading online let you free'. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be improved by using more varied linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'it', 'this') clearly points to the intended antecedent.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors ('conviniant', 'acesibilty', 'acess', 'jornal', 'completly') and word choice issues, such as 'provide you by all information' instead of 'provide you with all information'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'platforms' and 'applications', the range is limited. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'It's argued about the printed newspapers or books will become less', 'you can acesibilty for them', and 'you can be able to read'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns before attempting more complex structures.
