IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern world, individuals rely on online platforms rather than paper materials. So in the future, people may show interest in reading everything online rather than reading a printed newspapers or books. I totally agree that, future generation completely depends on social media compared to printed materials.
In the near future, with the gradual development of technology, people always want to do things effortlessly. It is totally understandable because there is no point of doing things in hard way if people have an easy method to follow to reach something. For instance, these days individuals are too busy with their schedules and they don't have much time to spent on newspapers. However they need to update current situations and information about present time. So people find it is always easy to check news on online.
Furthermore, when consider about books, past generation always prefer reading printed materials and they always admire the physical touch stimulation and the scent of new and old books. But with the technology revolution, people live in this decade completely change their attitude towards physical books. As an example, according to the data available in websites the number of physical book is dramatically reducing and online websites lead the way.
there are plenty of benefits in online materials compared to paper-based information. For example, individuals have to wait more than a day to get a news which happened in a day ago which means process is too slow. When it comes to online platform people can get information very fast within a second. It doesn't matter where the incident happen we can get to know it within a second and it is an immense benefit of social media compared to printed materials. On the other hand, if someone need to read a book, don't need to wait until buying it. So, those things are the benefits of technology.
In conclusion, in my perspective, I think, it is good thing that people prone to rely on online platforms. Technology gradually invading the world and in the future papers will replace with technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of digital media. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. While you mention the convenience of online news and the decline of physical books, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention 'data available in websites' without providing a concrete or illustrative example. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same idea about speed and convenience multiple times. The conclusion is clear but could be more effectively linked to the main body arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'For example' and 'So'. There are also instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the fourth paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the discussion of newspapers and books could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. You rely on common phrases like 'do things effortlessly' and 'good thing'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'physical touch stimulation' and 'papers will replace with technology', which should be 'physical books will be replaced by technology'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and less common lexical items related to the topic of digital transformation and media consumption.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'reading a printed newspapers', 'when consider about books', and 'if someone need to read a book, don't need to wait'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and missing subjects to improve your accuracy.
