Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention the convenience of technology, the arguments regarding why printed media will disappear are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, you mention 'education, transportation, communication' multiple times without fully explaining how these specifically replace the need for physical books or newspapers. The conclusion introduces a new, slightly confusing point about books being 'banned,' which is not a logical extension of the prompt. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported reason that directly answers the 'to what extent' aspect of the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'First and foremost' and 'In conclusion,' but many sentences are linked awkwardly or lack logical transitions. For example, the transition from discussing education to the drawbacks of technology in the third paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'besides these education,' which makes it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'modern life,' 'technology,' and 'good/positive ways.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'in improvement of technology' (instead of 'due to technological advancements') and 'adopting best knowledge is poor.' While the meaning is usually clear, the lack of variety and the misuse of certain terms prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to digital media and education to express your ideas with more precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('technology play,' 'it make'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures ('due to they will be able to'). The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'although there are minor argument against this technology adopting modern life.' To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tense consistency and the correct use of prepositions and articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
