IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

It has been often argued that in the

upcoming time nobody else will

purchase physical books and traditional

newspapers due to they will be

able to read everything they

want on online platforms without

pay any cost. I partly agree

with this statement and will

further elaborate the agreement

and argument in the impending

paragraphs.

On the one hand, this stance

has several points of agreement.

The significant one is that paper or

digital content saves paper on

space as well. It is extremely

difficult to organize and do care

of these books. As in today's

generation the place is little congested

and have no space to place

them. Apart from this, young

generation is increasingly prefer

online platforms for reading.

The further point of agreement

is that the online platforms

offer many breaking news quickly.

Because they have to just post

it on internet. For instance,

individuals can read breaking

news through their mobile phones

instead of waiting for newspaper

to released.

On the paradorical side, this

statement carries various points

of disagreement. The first and

foremost is that many individuals

prefer physical experience. People

are keen Intrested to acquire

news through newspaper.

Owing to many people think

that it generate excessive screen

time. Which can be effect their

eye sight and cause several

health problems. The another one

is that numerous areas do not

have internet. Many slum

areas do not have reliable

internet access or prefers digital

reading. For example, multifaced

readers still purchase printed novels

books because they

enjoy having physical copy or do

not have internet connection in

their areas. Apart from this,

newspapers and books can be

collected, gifted or kept as

a physical record or memory.

In Conclusion, although I partly

agree that free online content

will significantly reduce the

demand for printed books

and newspapers. However, I believe

that printed publications will

continue to exist because some

individuals value their convenience.
