IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

In the coming years, many people are likely to use the internet to obtain information rather than buying printed newspapers and books. I partially disagree with this statement. While i

ndividuals enjoy nearly free and easy access to online resources, the experience of reading physical materials cannot be replaced completely.

Nowadays, accessing online information has become increasingly convenient, with vast storage capacity of digital platforms, contents originally published in print is now accessible digitally. Consequently, individuals should not have to spend money in order to purchase their printed form. A person can get all the materials easily and read them from anywhere in the world. Furthermore, such materials can be found in audio and visual form making them more viable to use. Due to these reasons, many believe the internet will replace books and newspaper in future.

On the other hand, since ancient times, books have been undeniably a primary source of sharing knowledge. Thousands of years of human history, traditions, and culture are closely linked with them. The experience of holding books and reading them offers a unique exprience, which an online source cannot match. In addition, spending more time on digital platforms may cause eyes strain for readers because of blue light emitted by screens. This might encourage people to reduce their screen time and spend thier leisure time reading books and newspapers. Therefore, it is less likely to replace printed materials by digital sources.

In conclusion, I think, although people can have any information in their hands digitally without paying. The experience involved in using printed materials for a human being makes it difficult to replace them in near future.
