IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the present era, technology plays a indispensable role in human life. They believe that they can not survive without internet, because most of their things totally depend on this. Many people like to read newspaper or books during their lesuire team or in their daily commute. So there has been a growing concern about with the inventions of the modern technologies these old things will completely replaced in future. I partially agree with this view, because both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Nowadays, many students and youngsters are reading the books. And books have vital role in their life. In the previous years, people like to read magazines or newspapers to unwind their mood and to get information about geopolitical issues.Sometimes, due to their hectic schedule life they can not able to read the whole information properly. And many of them are providing misleading information and they have to rely on one thing. But in recent years things has changed completely with the invention of digital books and web applications. They can read and listen any types of books such as fictional and non-fictional in the app called amazon kindle.
On the other hand, this new approach is difficult especially for the old people. They do not know how to operate the smart phones and where to read and find the correct information. Because they are used to with this printed newspapers and it is very convenient for them. For example, Newspapers companies like Gujarat samachar in India is providing extra benefits to people by providing gifiting vouchers to them and their rates are very reasonable. It could not be completely change, because due to modern innovations people have to face many technical issues like internet connectivity, they are eyes get hurt due to continous monitoring on the screen while reading.
In conclusion, it totally depends on ones own perspectives. But it could not replaced completely.
