IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the future, no one will have printed magazines or books as people will be able to get everything on internet without paying. I disagree with this statment, as human beings have different mindset, and some prefer to read the newspapers physcially rather than online.
In future, everything will be shifted on internet and most of the things will be done online. The experience of reading online and physically is totally different. Reading a book in the library is significantly important, and online reading cannot have this experience. Moreover, numerous surveys have been conducted and in a result, the majority of the people prefers to read book or newpaper in printed edition.
Additionally, humans want to stay in memories, and the people have a great memory with their each book. The books collection is a beautiful hobby which can be experienced with printed books. Sticky notes plays a vital role in books reading. Moreover, the hand written note provides a great belonging with it. Addiionally, reading books in the library feels networking, the different cultures prefers to exchange books, or discuss the books with a cup of coffe or tea. This shows the networking part is in the human nature, and the books provides this lovely experience.
Overall, reading book or magazine, online or in the printed version, can have different experiecne, and people love to have both, however, time and place impacts heavily in which situation you want it, reading it online or in printed version, both choices have significant importance in life.
