IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that in the future, no one will purchase printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. I completely agree with this statement because in the era of globalization, technology has brought everything right to our fingertips.
To begin with, the main reason why I agree with this view is that in modern times, technology has made our life extremely easy. This is mainly due to the fact that if we want to read any article or book, we can find it online easily. In addition, most of them are totally free of cost, anyone can visit to the website and read it. For instance, most of the newspapers are published an online copy and printed copy. So, readers can easily visit their website to find them, As well as an e-book. Students can search for the books they need online and download them. As a result, they can save both time and money, because they do not need to visit a bookshop or buy a printed newspaper, clearly demonstrating the practical significance of the perspective.
Furthermore, another significant argument in favor of this position is that online books and newspapers are eco-friendly and it play a significant role to protect our nature from deforestation. For example, if more people read newspapers on their smartphones instead of buying printed copies every day, the amount of paper waste could be reduced because to make printed books and newspapers, a type of paper is required that is derived from tree bark.
In conclusion, considering the factors discussed above, I strongly believe that in the future most of the people will be able to read everything they want online without paying instead of printed books r newspapers.
