IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the coming time nobody will by printed newspapers or literacy this is manly because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. I partly disagree with the notion because although online reading will become increasingly popular, printed books and newspapers will continue to have their own value. I will discuss my views in upcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, why online reading will increase, it content is easy and convenient this is largely because individuals can access news and books anytime and anywhere with help of their mobile phones and laptops. Many websites and e-books are free or cheaper than printed materials. For instance: most of the masses use their smartphones and tablets and these digital tools make reading easier in any situation.
Secondly the benefits of printed materials such as books and newspaper, it don't effect on eyes and give a physical experience while reading. This is manly because most of the people prefer to printed books as its easy to read for a long time without screen fatigue. The another reason is that some valuable books, newspapers and special editions are not freely available online. For example libraries, schools and collectors will continue to use printed books.
To consultation, although online reading books provide more facilities to read them like when people wants to read so, they can easily read books, printed books and newspapers will continue to have their own value such as it provide a realistic view and don't affect eyes during reading than E-books

The essay is organised into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at paragraphing. However, progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions. Cohesive devices are either misused or absent, such as 'To consultation' instead of 'In conclusion', and 'The another reason' which contains a grammatical error in referencing. Paragraphing is visible, but the flow within paragraphs is interrupted by abrupt shifts and clunky phrasing. The overall logical progression is weak, as ideas tend to circle back on themselves rather than move forward. This aligns with Band 5.0, where information and ideas are present, but there is a lack of overall clear progression and cohesive devices are inadequate or inaccurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and heavily impacted by spelling and word-choice errors. Examples of basic errors include 'by' instead of 'buy', 'literacy' instead of 'literature', 'manly' instead of 'mainly', and 'effect' instead of 'affect'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'convenient', 'fatigue', and 'collectors', but these are undermined by frequent lexical inaccuracies and poor collocation, such as 'don't effect on eyes'. Vocabulary is repetitive, with words like 'read', 'books', and 'online' appearing constantly throughout the text.
