IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that individuals will stop purchasing printed newspapers or articles in the future because they will get access to read anything online without even paying money. I completely agree with this statement due to technological change as people can read different type of books, novels and articles online by using their mobile phone and internent.
First of all, everybody has a mobile phone device through which they can read and watch valuable content online as their are thousands of free website available on the internet. Moreover, the cost of books and newspaper is 10 times higher than reading e-books online. For instance, there are many reading apps on playstore which are completely free and anyone can downlond them.
Furthermore, reading online take less effort than physical books because it is more convienient and one can easily read any time and at any place as it is in their device. In addition, it saves a lot of time because we do not have to find books or pages from different places as all the books and reading material are in our mobile phone and we can open them by just clicking once. For example, individuals have to find different books from their shelves and need to remember that how many pages have they read but in apps they can find relivant material easily by searching them in the bar.
In conclusion, it is a more convienient way than reading physical books as it is cost effective and valuable. That's why i believe nobody will buy printed reading material in the future.
