IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary societies, it is been argued that, printed newspapers and books might fade out, as individuals will be able to get all needed information from the internet without paying for it. In my opinion, l completely agree with this because the internet is easily accessible with detailed information compared to books and newspapers and adequate connections can be achieved. These points will be explained in the following paragraphs with relevant examples, followed by a logical conclusion.
To begin with, technology has made getting news and varied information easily accessible, with a phone and an internet connection, an individual can have access to different news in details with pictural representation and even information sources. This makes getting information and knowledge easier compared to books and newspaper that might not be available at the particular time they are needed. For instance, a student who travelled home for the holiday without their school books, they can also get up-to-date information without feeling left out.
Furthermore, with different development occuring in the world, people can stay connected with their loved ones, significant others or people who are far or at different locations. They can keep proper communication, send and receive messages and even organize meetings which can not be possible with books and newspapers. For example, an organization diseminating information through a schedules zoom meeting to its employees who work at a different branch.
In conclusion, I strongly agree to phasing off of books and newspapers in the future as detailed informations and news can be accessed online without having to pay for it as well as individuals connecting with their loved and sharing of information adequately.
