IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the current technological era, all the different mediums of information can be found online. Some people believe that all the paper medium of information will be completely replaced by internet, and that all the information will be available online for free. From my perspective, I completely agree with the statement.
Firstly, Internet is availabe and accessible to almost each and every single person, they are able to scroll through different websites and gain information on any topic they have an interest in. For instance, a researcher is able to get information from different websites like, Sci-hub, paperpal, googlescholar and other relevant webites for free. Therefore, internet is able to help the researcher save time and gather high quality relevant information relatively effeciently and effectively.
Secondly, people no longer have to suffer and run from one library to another just to able to get a hold of the book, document or article they want to read. Also, they no longer have to pay hefty amount of money to buy a book for one single University assignement. All of the information is now availabe online on different websites on the internet, just a click away.
On the other hand, some individuals believe that internet is not a good source of information as there are sometimes inaccurate information availabe to the public thus deceieving people from the right direction. Moreover, there are all kinds of news and articles available that are a haox and hold no thruth to real events. For example, many articles were taken down from public websites after several reports were made to regulatory authorities about wrong and deceieving information.
In conclusion, the argument that nobody will be buying printed medium of information is agreebale as most of the information is avaialbe online so it is easy for people to find data that suits them without paying any money. On the other hand, strict rules should be established to make the internet a safer space for people and prevent scammers from decieving people and the spread of harmful pieces of information.

Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments. While logical progression is generally maintained, referencing is occasionally repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'internet' and 'different websites'. Cohesive devices are functional, but could be integrated with greater flexibility to achieve a higher band.
