In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
in recent years, digital screen uses increased significantly it has many drawbacks such as less physical active and bad reading skill. Many individuals argue that in coming years, no one will buy a printed news paper and books because they will able to read onle withoit paying. I agree with this opinion because digital books are cost friendly and eco friendly.
One of main reason is why people prefer to online reading it is cost is lower than physical reading material. Peoples easily buy a online reading material because it is easy to made. While physical paper are very costly because it is made through a proper process. Additionally it contain printing and electric cost. For example, university student buy cheap e book instead of expensive printed book. because it is affordable and it reduce it acedemic expenses
Another advantage of online reading books is they are eco friendly, because printed book require papers and paper made up from trees. Which is primary cause of deforestation. If we prefer to read from online materials, it may reduce deforestation. Which is bendical for our environment. For instances, in 2022 UAE has declared himself has paperfree country means no more offical work on paper. In this way they reduced the cutting of more trees for paper.
In conclusion, instrongly agree with that printed books will less produced in future because the e book are affordable and atomosphere friendly. As digital technology continoues develop, more people want to buy e material instead of purchasing printed book

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully presenting a clear position agreeing that printed newspapers and books will be replaced by free online alternatives. Relevant ideas are presented, such as cost efficiency and environmental benefits, but some are more fully developed than others. For instance, the opening paragraph briefly mentions drawbacks like 'less physical active and bad reading skill' which are left underdeveloped and disconnected from the main argument. Similarly, the points regarding environmental impact touch upon relevant concepts like deforestation, but the explanations remain somewhat general and brief, such as the mention of the UAE being a paper-free country. To reach a higher level, every main idea should be extended and supported with deeper analysis and more thorough explanations throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as financial benefits in the second body paragraph and environmental concerns in the third. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. The transition phrases used, such as 'One of main reason is why people prefer to online reading' and 'For instances, in 2022 UAE has declared himself', display awkward phrasing and weak cohesive links. Referencing and conjunctions lack seamless integration. To improve coherence and cohesion, the writer should employ a wider and more natural range of transitional devices and ensure that referencing between sentences is clearer and more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the main points regarding cost and environmental impact. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'eco friendly', 'deforestation', and 'affordable', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, form, and spelling. Examples of lexical errors include 'cost friendly' instead of cost-effective, 'onle' instead of only, 'withoit' instead of without, 'acedemic' instead of academic, 'bendical' instead of beneficial, 'instrongly' instead of I strongly, and 'atomosphere' instead of atmospheric or environmental. While communication is generally maintained despite these errors, the frequent spelling and word-choice mistakes restrict the lexical score. Developing greater precision and mastery of word forms will help elevate the vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and causal clauses, as seen in 'If we prefer to read from online materials, it may reduce deforestation.' However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause some difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement problems ('digital screen uses increased', 'printed book require'), missing articles ('is made through proper process', 'buy cheap e book'), incorrect prepositions ('read from online materials'), and sentence fragments ('because it is affordable and it reduce it acedemic expenses'). Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent across the text. To achieve a higher level, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences and exercise better control over basic grammatical patterns and agreements.
