Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response partially addresses the task by stating a clear position that printed materials will become obsolete, supporting it with a couple of general points regarding cost and convenience. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed, lacking specific elaboration or a fully sustained argument. Furthermore, the response suffers from a major length issue, containing only 159 words, which falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum requirement. This severely impacts the overall development of the task and keeps the score at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some basic organisation with the use of cohesive markers such as 'firstly' and 'Secondly', providing an overall framework for the text. However, there is no clear overall progression across the essay as a whole, and paragraphing is poorly handled, with several sentences clumped together incorrectly. Referencing and cohesive devices are at times repetitive and mechanical, which limits the flow of ideas and prevents the response from achieving a higher level of cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for communicating basic points. There are noticeable errors in spelling, word form, and word choice throughout the text, such as 'beacause', 'persepative', 'particully', and 'reserach'. These frequent inaccuracies and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted lexical range that prevents any successful use of more sophisticated, less common vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying primarily on simple sentence structures alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty, such as 'nobody will like to purchase printed newspapers or books reason beacause they will able to get'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, punctuation, and capitalization throughout the text, which can cause strain and difficulty for the reader trying to understand the intended meaning.
