Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is after argued that, in the future, people will buying the newspapers and books because they will be abale to access all the information they need online for free. I largly agree with this view because online sources are convinient and easily accessible.
On significant reason for supporting this view is that online reading is much more convenient then buying printed materials.People can acess newspapers, books and other information.Instantly useing smart phone tablets or computers. Moreover, many website and digital libraries provide free contant, which can reduce the need to spend money on printed materials. For example students can download free educational books and read them on their mobile phones instead of purchasing physical copies.
Another contributing factor is that digital content is easier to store and carry.A single electronic divice can contain thosusand of books and newspapers,Whereas printed materials require considerably physical space. In addition, online newspaper can be update immidiately, allowing readers to acess the leatest information without waiting for a new printed edition. Therefore ,the convenience and accessibility of digital content may encourage more people to move away from printed publications.
In conclusion,I largly agree that printed newspapers and books will become much less popular in the future, the convinience, accibibility and availabity of free online content are likely to reduce peoples need to buy printed materials.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, as it is notably under the minimum length requirement of 250 words, containing only 212 words. While the writer presents a clear position of largely agreeing with the prompt, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, the point about free educational books is introduced but not fully extended to explain broader societal impacts. To reach the next band, the writer must ensure the response meets the full word count requirement and expands each supporting argument with deeper explanations and more specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates some organisation with a discernible introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which allows for a coherent overall arrangement. However, referencing and transitions are at times faulty or mechanical, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph lacking appropriate linking phrases. Paragraphing is used, but internal cohesion within paragraphs relies on repetitive structures. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to improve the logical progression between sentences and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for discussing the topic of digital versus print media. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'convenient', 'accessible', and 'educational books', but this is accompanied by noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice. Examples include 'convinient' (convenient), 'abale' (able), 'contant' (content), 'divice' (device), 'thosusand' (thousand), and 'accibibility' (accessibility), which can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding lexical accuracy and mastering the correct spelling of common academic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside some faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the response, such as missing articles ('On significant reason'), incorrect verb forms ('people will buying'), and punctuation errors like missing spaces after commas and periods (e.g., 'Therefore ,the convenience'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to practice forming complex sentences reliably and pay closer attention to basic grammatical agreements, verb patterns, and punctuation rules.
