IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In future individuals prefer mosty to rely on internet rather than reading news or magazine due to access of vast amount of information which is available online.
In this scenario i am totally agreeing to that aspect due to rather than buying newspaper or books which contains specfic and limited information i will prefer reading it online.
Gaining knowledge over the internet is far more better initiative than buying books. The main reason books is that you have limited information as well as on specific subjects. By learning through via internet you can access all the information at one platform which is quite eaiser and reliable method. For instance i want to cook a specific meal like biryani i will search it online and read the ingredients and step by step procedure on how to prepare it rather than going to a book store to buy a specific cooking book which also not useful for me afterwards and also if i do anything wrong in the prepration i can also search it about as well.
Reading physical books and newpaper is great for your focus and your retina, because using internet over the phone or tablets harm your eyes which results in losing ability to focus.
In future you can access inforamation around the world but the book you buy for studies will never change. Institutions and goverments never allow to use phones in the classes, as a result buying books will always be the option.
In conclusion , Internet will play a significant role in accessing information which helps people to stay updates over the period of time in coming decades, but buying books will always be an option for learning at institutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and takes a clear position in agreement with the statement, particularly regarding the ease of accessing information online. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding reading recipes online instead of buying a cookbook is relevant, but the counter-argument introduced in the fourth and fifth paragraphs regarding eye strain and the necessity of physical books for institutions introduces mixed messages about whether you totally agree or disagree. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the reasoning lacks depth, keeping the response at this level where ideas are presented rather than fully explored and supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the text lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, yet the internal flow within paragraphs is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are often inadequate or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on simple connectors like 'and' or 'also'. Furthermore, referencing and logical transitions between contrasting points—such as the sudden shift from online benefits to eye strain and back to institutional rules—are handled mechanically, resulting in a disjointed reading experience that fails to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for discussing the topic. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, such as 'mosty' instead of mostly, 'specfic' instead of specific, 'eaiser' instead of easier, 'newpaper' instead of newspaper, and 'prepration' instead of preparation. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'significant role' and 'access of vast amount of information', inaccurate word forms and occasional spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher lexical band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures. When the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage. For example, sentences such as 'In this scenario i am totally agreeing to that aspect due to rather than buying newspaper' demonstrate poor control over prepositional phrases and dependent clauses. Punctuation errors are also prevalent, including missing capital letters for the pronoun 'I' and incorrect comma placement before conjunctions. These frequent errors cause difficulty and strain for the reader throughout the text.
