IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that in coming future more people would be tilted to read everything through online without any investment instead of printed books or newspapers. Although printed notes have some outweigh the online reading, I believ that online reading has more convienient, free of cost and every person easily access to it.
Firstly, Online learnig easily available for every person to learn everything from that. Nowadays, trend of reading news paper declined because it can offers to travels into shops for earnig that can wast of money as well as of time. Some news channels and other online platforms are available for every individuals to take knowledge and trending information from that. For example, in our country has 5G internet access, so local citizens can use it to take a vast majority of knowledge from that by the help of smartphones.
Secondly, although some old ages community still have less awareness about online reading stratege, I agree that ninty person people can aware and easily access to online reading. If a person use mobile on proper way, it will gain a lot of benefits regarding knowledge. In our country, youth generation ratio is more than as compared to older people, so if we guided on proper way by using of internet, it will achieve more desires from it. For instance, majority of citizens use laptops, smartphones and other electronic devices for diffirent porpuses, so if we provide proper guidance to everyone regarding use of intetrnet then it would be good for our country.
In conclusion, although reading of books and news papers have some advantages, I strongly agree with online learning because it provide instent and correct information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task only partially, presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt, but the supporting ideas remain limited and under-developed. While the writer attempts to discuss why people might prefer online reading, such as accessibility and cost savings, the arguments lack depth and solid elaboration. For instance, the point about travelling to shops being a waste of money is introduced but not fully reasoned within the context of printed newspapers versus digital media. Additionally, some ideas tend to be repetitive across the body paragraphs, focusing heavily on general internet availability and smartphones without offering varied perspectives or fully exploring alternative consequences. To move forward, the writer needs to extend each main point with more specific explanations and well-developed examples that directly strengthen the overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, alongside basic paragraphing where each body paragraph starts with a transitional marker such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'so if we guided on proper way by using of internet, it will achieve more desires from it,' where pronoun reference creates ambiguity. The progression of ideas lacks complete smoothness due to abrupt shifts and over-reliance on simple cohesive structures. To achieve a higher level, the writer should ensure that cohesive devices connect ideas more naturally and improve referencing across sentences to establish a more transparent logical flow throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate for the task, providing enough vocabulary to communicate the basic argument. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'trend', 'platforms', and 'electronic devices', but encounters noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'Online learnig', 'news paper', 'old ages community', 'stratege', 'ninty person people', and 'diffirent porpuses'. Spelling and morphological inaccuracies appear frequently throughout the text, including terms like 'convienient', 'instent', and 'earnig'. These errors do not completely block communication, but they cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the student needs to expand their control of word formation, accurate spelling, and natural lexical collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying on a mix of simple sentences and attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'more people would be tilted to read', 'every person easily access to it', 'news channels ... are available for every individuals', and 'if we guided on proper way'. These frequent grammatical errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader in places. To reach a higher standard, the writer must focus on improving the accuracy of complex sentence patterns, ensuring correct verb tense consistency, and mastering fundamental grammatical rules regarding articles and prepositions.
