Student answer (Band 5.5)
Technology plays a crucial role in humans life. It is believed by people that nobody will not be used books and newspapers to read everything in the future because they want to use online platform for getting information. I strongly agree with this statement with some extent which vindication will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are sevral merits are association with it. The first and foremost merit is, quick information. To elaborate on it, online platform are more beneficial for getting news in a short time rather than newspapers because internet is more faster. Additionally, another merits is, eco-friendly. For example, according to the survey, the cutting of trees becoming less in the present days because humans preferred e-books rather than paper books. Hence, trees becomes save in these days because humans use woods for making paper in the past.
Moving further, individuals preferred online platforms raher than books because it is easy to understand and humans help to other apps or platform to solve their problem. So, online apps are convinient and flexible.
On the other hand, there are numerous demerits of online platforms. The part and parcel is, not working without internet. To elaborate on this, the online platform do not work in weak signal but the books have no need of internet. Furthermore, online products not only effect on eyesight but also distraction. For instance, when individuals read everything online then the harmful rays of mobiles or laptops are bad effect on humans eyesight. The citizens read deeper study in the books rather than mobiles because mobile is the source of distration. Therefore, books and newpaper are useful for humans.
In conclusion, after taking all aspects into consideration, I would like to emphasize that online platforms give quick information and it is environment friendly. But do not forget the disadvantages of online reading such as distraction and effect on persons eyesight or brain health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and presents a clear position agreeing with the statement, though the argument is only partially developed. While the writer touches on both merits and demerits, such as quick information and environmental benefits versus eyesight strain and lack of internet access, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the point regarding trees being saved is stated briefly without strong elaboration or extension. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend and support each main idea with more detailed reasoning and relevant examples rather than moving quickly from one point to the next.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the writing is divided into logical paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, relying on standard transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'To elaborate on it' rather than smooth semantic flow. Referencing can also be slightly unclear at times, such as in the third paragraph where the sentence structure obscures the connection between the ideas. To improve coherence further, the writer should ensure that cohesive devices are used more flexibly and naturally, and that the progression within paragraphs is tightly controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to discuss the topic, but it is limited and marred by noticeable errors. There are frequent lexical inaccuracies in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'sevral merits are association with it' instead of associated, 'internet is more faster', and 'effect on humans eyesight'. Spelling and word formation errors also appear, including 'convinient' and 'distration'. These errors indicate an attempt to use less common vocabulary, but they occasionally cause difficulty or hesitation for the reader. Expanding the lexical repertoire with accurate word choices and collocations is essential for higher achievement.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic combinations. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to noticeable errors in grammar, plurals, and prepositions. Examples include double negatives like 'nobody will not be used books', subject-verb agreement issues such as 'online platform are' and 'trees becomes save', and awkward phrasing like 'with some extent which vindication will be discussed'. These frequent errors can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer should focus on mastering basic sentence mechanics, subject-verb agreement, and accurate complex clause structures.
