Student answer (Band 5.0)

Printed newapaers or books might nobody use in the future because they will be able to read everything they disire online without paying.I agree with this because of people may prefer to watch videos or listening news thorugh social media platform or comfatable way to read eveywhere.

Many people will be perfering read news online rather than physical printed newspapers. It would acces everywhere because people will have been use more more their social media platfrom such as Facebook, instagrram and using news apps. Those apps might use to reading faster any payment. It can really realable to read and you do not have to confusion about news. For example, in the USA servey shows young people rely on the news apps like BBC and Amarican news which gets faster way to recive news.

We can see in the recent time most of the people mostly young generation are perfering use digital tools, therefore in the futuer it will gorw more and more. Using apps thourgh waching visual through better understand and comfatable to read whenever they have time to read. Even those videos will aviable streaming apps. We can get different types in the one clicks but it really hard get news in the print newspapers. Futhermore, making printed newspepers are badly affect enviroment to deforestion because it need to higher amount of trees to make paper.

In conclusion, in the fututer people defently will be using digital apps for recveing news more than printed news or books. Also people will have many opition to read whatever thay would like to read. I strongly believe that future printed books or newspapers might use fewer people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position of agreement regarding the shift towards digital reading materials. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed throughout the essay. While the writer touches on relevant points such as the convenience of digital media, environmental concerns regarding deforestation, and the preference of the younger generation, these arguments lack sufficient explanation or deep elaboration. For instance, the mention of an American survey is too brief and generalised to fully support the argument. Additionally, nine words copied directly from the task prompt were excluded from the official word count, though the text successfully met the minimum length requirement overall. To achieve a higher band, the writer must extend and support all main points with more detailed explanations, specific examples, and a more thoroughly sustained line of reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organisation with a discernible introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows an attempt to structure the response. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical flow between sentences and paragraphs is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used rather inadequately and repetitively, with words like 'therefore' and 'furthermore' appearing mechanically or awkwardly within the text. Paragraphing is present, but internal referencing is not always clear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the exact progression of the argument. To improve in this area, the writer needs to ensure that each paragraph has a central topic sentence, followed by logically linked supporting ideas, and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally to guide the reader smoothly through the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The lexical range demonstrated in the response is limited, containing frequent errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause strain for the reader. The writer relies on basic and repetitive vocabulary, misspelling common terms such as 'newapaers', 'disire', 'comfatable', 'instagrram', 'realable', 'aviable', 'opition', and 'defently'. Furthermore, incorrect word forms and collocations appear regularly, such as 'listening news' instead of 'listening to the news', 'making printed newspepers are badly affect enviroment to deforestion', and 'in the one clicks'. The vocabulary is just about adequate to convey a basic meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility needed for higher bands. To progress, the writer should build a broader vocabulary base, focus on accurate spelling, and pay closer attention to word formation and correct collocations in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structure of the essay is heavily restricted, featuring a limited range of sentence forms. Although the writer makes attempts at complex sentences, these constructions are frequently faulty and laden with errors. Frequent grammatical errors occur in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples of these issues include 'Printed newapaers or books might nobody use in the future', 'people will have been use more more their social media platfrom', 'Those apps might use to reading faster', and 'it need to higher amount of trees'. These persistent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must work on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring accurate tense usage, improving subject-verb agreement, and reducing the frequency of structural errors across all sentence types.
