IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 4.5)
In the future nobody will purchased writen newspapers or magzines whereas they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. I strongly agree with this view point because in future every person read every thing in online and safe money to buy new books. For example, if we read newspapers and books online, so we preserve a lot of time of wasting, because when we buy to get a new book in the book store then we waste own time and money.
In the comming next few years nobody will buy newspaper and book for reading because people reading every thing in online. This reason is that, in online every thing is free of cost and read easily with any effort, but if we purchased a book for reading, we go to the book store and waste own time and money. For example, every year new edition provide is in the market and old version book discontinue and individuals but new book every year to waste many and online every thing is free. Subsequently, in the future people see many types of acadmic books just one click in own smart phones, because online reading is effectively and brain booster. For instance, when we can't understand any work so we search this word meaning and synonyms in online by using smart phones.
It is worth highlighting, that in future printed newspaper and books are completely ended in the market. Furthermore, humans are shifted in online materials for gain some knowlodge. To illustrate, every kind of book and paper is in online without paying.
In my opinion, I agree this view because in future their is a modren world and in this modern world every thing is in modern. In addition, people can learn and read every thing in online not use books.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that people will move away from printed materials, and you give relevant reasons involving cost, convenience and access through smartphones. Examples such as searching online for a word’s meaning and finding academic books with one click help connect your view to everyday use. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it mainly repeats that online material is free and printed books waste time and money. These points need fuller explanation, and the claim that printed newspapers and books will “completely” disappear is asserted rather than supported. You also do not consider any qualification or counterpoint, such as the value some readers place on physical books. Develop distinct reasons and explain how each supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has paragraphs and a recognisable overall direction: it introduces agreement, gives reasons and examples, and ends by restating the opinion. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough, and progression is difficult to follow. The second paragraph repeats the opening claim and the same cost-and-time argument, while the third paragraph adds little beyond saying printed materials will end. Connect each paragraph to a distinct supporting point, and make the relationship between a reason and its example explicit. Linking phrases such as “For example,” and “Furthermore” are used, but they do not consistently create logical connections; “Subsequently” does not clearly express the intended relationship. Clearer sequencing and less repetition would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “newspapers,” “book store,” “online,” “edition,” and “smart phones,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “new edition” and “synonyms.” However, vocabulary is repetitive, especially the repeated use of “every thing,” “online,” and “waste,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. For example, “brain booster” and “effectively” do not express the intended benefits naturally, while “gain some knowlodge” is unclear and misspelled. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing access, cost, convenience and reading habits, and check spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if” and “when.” This shows an effort to explain reasons and give examples. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, sentence construction, agreement and articles, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “nobody will purchased” uses the wrong verb form after “will,” and “every person read every thing” lacks the required agreement and natural sentence structure. The sentence beginning “For example, if we read…” also combines clauses awkwardly with “so.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and using one clear main clause with supporting clauses. Check tense and agreement in each sentence, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
