IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people think that the printed books or newspaper will not rise the demand in market owing to the online books will replace in it. It is everytime avaliable in websites we do not pay money. We will discusses both point of views.
Firstly, it is widely believe that in the up comming years the printing books will be completely finished due to people do not spend money to buy any books for reading. Everything is available in the online platform; moreover, they have best opportunity to search anytime, any current affairs any-where, places, and time. Even they can highlight any lines with different colors, take screenshot, and write a notes in it.
For instance,if a person travel one place to another he wants to study book then searchs a book title in his gadget. He starts reading a book and does not need to carry books or other readable stuff. It is no double the e-books are significantly benefit for human life.
On the other hand, some individuals totally disagree this statement because some people want to carry a book with own hands to read it. The main reason is they do not have proper knowlege to use new technologies; in addition, if we use e-book then yiour eyes will be effecting. You brain will distract easy because sometime the message is pop-up and you see it then we loss us concentration and focous in it.
To sum up, I totally agree this statement the online books will capture the market the main reason someone have no time or money to go market and pay for books.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear overall view in the conclusion—“I totally agree”—and include relevant reasons, such as the convenience of reading while travelling and the possible effects of screens on concentration and eyesight. However, the response does not fully address the question’s central claim that online material will be available without payment: this point is asserted but not examined, and the discussion shifts between books and newspapers without developing both. The opposing view is introduced, but its reasons are brief and the response does not explain why your agreement outweighs them. To strengthen the response, state your position clearly in the introduction and develop a few directly relevant reasons with explanation and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting online reading, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the first body paragraph moves from online availability to highlighting and then to travelling, without clearly connecting these points to the claim about free access. Some references, including “it” in the opening and “this statement” in the opposing paragraph, are not fully clear. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain it and connect the example explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “online platform,” “current affairs,” “highlight,” and “concentration,” and you attempt phrases such as “capture the market.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, as in “will not rise the demand in market,” “the printing books will be completely finished,” and “significantly benefit for human life.” Spelling errors such as “avaliable,” “knowlege,” and “focous” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable set of expressions for discussing publishing and digital reading, and check word forms and spelling. Prefer precise, natural combinations—for example, “demand for printed books may decline” and “digital books offer practical benefits.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if a person travel,” and use connectors to link clauses. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “it is widely believe,” “We will discusses,” “a person travel,” and “your eyes will be effecting.” The opening also contains an incomplete or poorly formed sentence: “It is everytime avaliable in websites we do not pay money.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and separate complete ideas with appropriate punctuation. Building complex sentences only when you can control their structure will improve clarity.
