Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree to a large extent that online reading will replace printed newspapers and books. You address both benefits and a drawback, with relevant points about convenience, cost, paper use, access to current news, and screen-related health effects. This covers the task, but some ideas are more fully explained than others. For example, the environmental point links online reading to reduced paper production, while the claim that technology makes people’s knowledge faster is unclear and needs a specific explanation. The drawback about becoming dependent on devices is also brief. To strengthen the response, explain how these points support your view about whether printed materials will disappear, and clarify the extent of your agreement in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting advantages, a paragraph on a drawback, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally understandable, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore,” and “On the flip side” help show the direction of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several sentences use the same pattern, including “To explain it” and “To elaborate it.” Some links between ideas are unclear: “Therefore, due to advancement of technology makes people knowledge faster” does not clearly connect the evidence to the claim. The conclusion also shifts to elders’ emotional connection without fully tying this point back to the main position. Use clearer references and vary linking methods while making each paragraph’s central point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “environment friendly,” “deforestation,” “current affairs,” and “screen fatigue,” and the main message is generally understandable. There are also noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation problems that make some phrases awkward or unclear, such as “myraid,” “beh ing,” “technosavy,” and “saving a money.” “Social media” is not quite the right term for online books and news, and “current mishappenings” is an unnatural way to describe news. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than inserting less familiar words where they do not fit. Proofread spelling and choose precise terms such as “online platforms” or “current events” to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, for example the sentence beginning “To explain it, instead of carry plethora of books…” However, control of these structures is uneven, and some errors make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “individuals totally rely on internet,” “people will aware more,” and “people are become technosavy”; these show problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. The sentence “due to advancement of technology makes people knowledge faster” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Build accuracy by checking subject–verb patterns and verb forms, and practise combining clauses without leaving out essential parts. More consistently accurate sentences would make your argument easier to follow.
