Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear position in the opening and conclusion: “I completely agree” that readers will increasingly access books and newspapers online without payment. You also give relevant contrasts between past habits, such as visiting libraries and buying books, and current online access. However, the response only partially develops the task: it mainly repeats that online material is free and convenient, without explaining in detail why printed publications may disappear or considering limits to free online access. The point about people’s past curiosity is also not clearly connected to the prediction. Develop two or three distinct reasons with specific examples, and explain how each supports your degree of agreement. The required length is met; 15 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has paragraph breaks and a broadly understandable order: it moves from your position, to past reading habits, to present online access, and then to a conclusion. Basic links such as “moreover,” “but,” and “in future” help signal relationships. However, progression is weakened by repeated claims that people can read online for free, especially in the third, fourth, and final paragraphs. Some links are unclear or mechanical, and the paragraph about past interest and curiosity does not lead clearly into the conclusion. Improve the organisation by giving each body paragraph one distinct reason, then use clear references and transitions to show how the evidence supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant terms, including “internet,” “newspapers,” “books,” “library,” and “without any cost,” so the main topic is generally clear. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with “interest,” “books,” and “free” appearing frequently. Several spelling and word-choice errors, such as “purches,” “docomentry,” “convenent,” and “problrms,” make the writing less clear and reduce precision. Some phrases are also unnatural, for example “take information about anything” and “crazy for buying.” Build a wider range of accurate expressions for digital reading and print media, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your reasons rather than restating the same point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify your main meaning. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently across the response. For example, “In today era is everything is on the internet” has problems with sentence structure and articles, while “the student go to library” shows errors in agreement and article use. Verb forms and tense are also inconsistent, as in “the teacher telling” and “people had easily take information.” Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries are often inaccurate, making some sentences difficult to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using “because,” “although,” or “while,” checking tense and agreement in each.
