Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays people think that in the future nobody will purchase newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything on internet without any paying. In my perspective, i agree with this statement with great extent and in this essay i will justify this aforementioned notion along with examples in subsequent paragraph.
At the outset, there are convincing factors which are in the favour of my opinion. The predominant point is, Due to the rapid growth of technology internet plays a vital role in human life which slowly extinct newspaper over the time. Moreover, for publishers uploading news on internet will very easy because for publishing newspaper there can be need a printing machine, knowledge and papers however when publishers upload news online for this publisher only need knowledge to publish.
Furthermore, it also helps people to save trees because newspaper and books made with the help of paper and those paper are made with the help of trees and those trees are very important for human life to survive. When news will publish on internet then it predominantly beneficial to protect trees and helps to stop deforestation.
In conclusion, by giving justifications on aforementioned topic there can properly see that by read online it give many benefits on human life physically and financially. physically because when all people shift online instead of papers then it helps to protect trees and also trees give oxygen to human which is important source for survival and financially because when publishers upload news online then people will pay nothing to read news but on the other hand when people want to read newspaper the people firstly pay certain amount to read newspaper for month or year.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that online access will reduce demand for printed newspapers and books. You give relevant reasons, including lower publishing costs and the potential to protect trees, and the conclusion restates your view. However, the response addresses the claim only partially. It focuses mainly on newspapers and does not explain whether books will also become freely available online or why readers might continue to buy printed material. The point about publishers needing only “knowledge” to upload news is also not fully explained, and the environmental argument is repeated rather than extended with specific support. Develop both sides of the statement and clarify how free online access could apply to books as well as news.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help show the intended progression. However, the links between ideas are often mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “for this publisher only need knowledge to publish” is difficult to connect precisely to the preceding comparison of printing and online publishing. The conclusion also combines several points in a long sentence, making the relationship between physical and financial benefits less clear. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and avoid repeating the same tree-protection idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “publishers,” “deforestation,” “survive” and “financially,” so the reader can follow the main argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “without any paying,” “slowly extinct newspaper” and “by read online.” The phrase “aforementioned notion” is also unnecessarily formal and is repeated in a way that does not add precision. Aim for natural, accurate combinations such as “read online for free,” “printed newspapers may gradually disappear” and “reading digital content.” Check word forms and collocations when revising, rather than relying on formal-sounding phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and a contrast introduced by “however.” Nevertheless, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand the message. For example, “internet plays a vital role … which slowly extinct newspaper” has problems with the verb form and clause structure; “when news will publish” uses an incorrect passive construction; and “it give many benefits” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “on internet” and the comma splice after “The predominant point is.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then check verb agreement, tense, articles and sentence boundaries.
