Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a position—“I PARTLY AGREE”—and refer to online reading, convenience, and the possibility that technology may affect relationships. However, the response only minimally addresses the question: it does not clearly explain whether printed books and newspapers will disappear, and the discussion shifts to social media and family relationships without connecting these points to buying print. The ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported. The response is also 156 words, below the required 250; 23 copied words from the task prompt were not counted. To develop your answer, explain both why free online access may reduce print purchases and why some people may continue buying printed material, then support each point with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to move from online reading and convenience to possible effects on relationships, and phrases such as “For example” and “Over time” signal examples and consequences. However, the ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the progression is difficult to follow: the response moves from newspapers to videos, communication, family relationships, and educational videos without showing how these points support the position on printed publications. Several statements repeat the idea of reading online, while links such as “similarily” do not clarify the relationship between sentences. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs with one main point each, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions only where they accurately show the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant words, including “printed newspapers,” “books,” “online,” “convenient,” and “communication,” so the general topic is identifiable. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several inaccurate or misspelled forms make parts difficult to understand, such as “interent,” “socia media,” “weekar,” and “tansferred.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “read every place” and “technology at educational videos.” Build a more precise range for discussing the topic—for example, terms for digital access, print sales, and reader preferences—and check spelling and word forms. This would help you express your ideas without relying repeatedly on “read” and “technology.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt simple statements and some longer constructions, including “For example, parents and children may sit together in the same room but remain focus…” and a cause-and-effect idea beginning “Because people…”. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or incorrectly formed, which makes relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “NOBODY BUYING NEWSPAPERS,” “People read books online they will read…,” and “They may have less time to visit family, friend neighbour.” Verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries need more control. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then join related ideas with accurate conjunctions. For instance, separate the claim about online access from the explanation of why it is convenient.
