Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowday's buy printed newspaper has become an important issue in modern society. While some people have different views on this matter, I strongly agree with this statement for several reasons.

Firstly, one of the main reason is that technology create all things easy. This is because we can read news in the mobile phone everywhere any time. For example, some people have internet they can see news in socail media apps like BBC news and other platform. As a result, they have good benefits to watch news in the mobile phone.

Secondly, another important reason is that online news save money and their time. In addition, no paying fees to buy newspaper you watch on mobile phone, laptop and computer. For instance, we can read everything on mobile phone technology easy our life in this era. Therefore, online learning is good for student and other people they can read everthings online everywhere.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with this statmenet because technology create all things easy in our life and online news save money and golden time. I believe that online read news is very important for young people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position—“I strongly agree”—and give relevant reasons about convenience and saving money. However, the response addresses the topic only partially: it focuses mainly on online news, while the prompt also asks about books and whether everything will be available online without payment. The point about “online learning” is not clearly connected to the future of printed books. Your examples are brief and do not explain why printed publications will disappear or consider any limits to free online access. The response is also below the required 250 words, which restricts how fully you can develop your argument. To strengthen it, discuss both newspapers and books, explain each reason with a specific example, and address the claim about free access directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “Therefore.” However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and several links do not clearly show how one idea follows from another. For instance, the move from free online news to “online learning” shifts the focus, while “In addition” introduces a point that largely repeats the previous one. Some references, such as “they” in “they can read everything,” are not fully clear. Develop one distinct point per paragraph and connect each example explicitly to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “technology,” “online,” “newspaper,” and “save money,” so your main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “mobile phone,” “news,” and “easy.” Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “technology create all things easy,” “golden time,” and “online read news.” There are also spelling errors, including “Nowday's,” “socail,” “statmenet,” and “everthings,” which reduce accuracy. Aim to use more precise expressions for convenience, cost, and access, and check spelling carefully. A wider range of accurate topic vocabulary would help you explain the argument more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses introduced by “because” and “while.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but the range remains limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “one of the main reason is” has a singular/plural agreement problem, and “technology create” and “online news save” need subject–verb agreement. In “some people have internet they can see news,” two clauses are joined without suitable punctuation or a linking word. Articles and sentence patterns also need attention, as in “read news in the mobile phone” and “they can read everthings online everywhere.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
