Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about that nobody will buy printed newspaper or books in future because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying.I totally agree with this stance.
Firstly, we are living in the 21st century where technology has entered and made massive changes in the lifestyles. Many people are found of reading books and newspapers. But due to this digital era, people has shifted on online reading rather then buying books from stores. Moreover, reading books or newspaper online can be much cheaper then buying it onsites. For instance, if a person buys a book and read it then that specific book is of no need and becomes a waste while reading that online will be saved in the smartphone rather lying on the shelf with dust. This will be time saving as well, as the indiviusal does not have to make an whole enviroment of reading but can easily open the online portal and read out his favourite book.
Additionally, online reading book will be much convinent as the indivisual do not have to carry the book with him everywhere as the technology has made it easier. Intially, this would not be a burden to carry and the person through his smartphone or any digital equipments can read the book or newspaper anywhere.
In conclusion, online books and newspaper has made things much easier to read. people can anywhere or anytime read there favourite book with no waste of money as smartphone is an essential thing and acessible for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”), and the response gives relevant reasons: online reading is cheaper, avoids storing physical books, and is convenient to access on a smartphone. However, these points are only briefly developed, and the example about a purchased book becoming “of no need” does not fully explain why people would stop buying printed material. The response also focuses mainly on convenience and cost, without exploring the claim that everything will be available online for free or acknowledging possible limits to that claim. The required minimum length is not met: the response contains 245 words, five words short, with 13 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. Develop and support the main reasons more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Additionally,” and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, moving from cost and storage to convenience. This gives the reader an overall coherent path through your argument. However, some connections are mechanical, and the second body paragraph repeats the convenience point rather than adding a clearly distinct reason. There are also unclear or awkward links, such as “This will be time saving as well,” where the reference of “This” is not precise. The conclusion restates the main idea but introduces “people can anywhere or anytime read,” which is difficult to follow. Make each paragraph’s purpose distinct and use clearer references between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital era,” “online portal,” “smartphone,” and “accessible,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “ongoing debate.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “found of reading” instead of “fond of reading,” “shifted on online reading,” and “make an whole environment of reading.” Spelling errors such as “convinent,” “indivisual,” and “acessible” are also noticeable. These issues keep the vocabulary from expressing your ideas precisely. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing digital access, cost, and convenience, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason introduced by “because” and an example beginning “For instance.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “people has shifted” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “online reading book will be much convinent as the indivisual do not have to carry” contains problems with number and agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “an whole” should use the correct article, and the opening sentence runs directly into “I totally agree” without a space or clear punctuation. Practise checking agreement, singular and plural forms, articles, and punctuation, then use a few accurate complex sentences to connect each reason to its explanation.
