Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that online access will replace printed books and newspapers, and you give relevant reasons about convenience and saving money. The examples of students using phones for classes and learners accessing online books support the general argument. However, the response only partly develops the task: it focuses mainly on cost and educational use, with little discussion of newspapers or of whether all online material will actually be free. The example about a particular online vocabulary book is specific, but its connection to the prediction that nobody will buy print is not fully explained. Develop both sides of your reasoning more fully and clarify the scope of your agreement, including possible limits to free online access.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from convenience to cost is generally understandable, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, the first body paragraph begins with an unclear sentence, “One of the crucial purposes of that technology development,” and the relationship between some examples and the main claim is not always explicit. The second paragraph also contains several ideas in quick succession, making the reasoning feel less controlled. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to the claim it supports, and vary linking phrases rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “technology,” “convenience,” “low-income families” and “academic books,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument difficult to understand. For example, “it allocates to massive opportunity” does not clearly express the intended benefit, while “printed newpapers and books are often costing” is not a natural way to describe their price. Spelling errors such as “techonology,” “developoing” and “easiar” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural topic phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; prioritise precise, familiar expressions over ambitious wording that does not fit.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a time clause beginning “When.” This shows some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences hard to follow. For example, “In couple of decades later nobody will buy” has an incomplete time expression, and “developing new technology wil be offerd to save” has an incorrect verb construction. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence structure, as in “Buying printed newpapers and books are often costing.” Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses; check verb forms, singular/plural agreement and articles during proofreading.
