Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a position—“I partially agree”—and include points about older readers’ continued use of newspapers and the convenience of online reading. These are relevant starting points, but the response only partially addresses the question because it does not clearly explain whether people will be able to access all books and newspapers online for free, or why printed publications may continue to be bought. The examples about India and Japan are difficult to connect to your argument, and the Japan example refers to “prienter newspaper” and a project without explaining what it is. Develop two clear reasons, support each with a specific explanation, and return to your partial-agreement position in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To commence” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, so the reader can recognise an overall structure. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within paragraphs: the first moves from senior citizens to younger generations and then to a claim about local information, while the second shifts between technology, free reading, and a government project. Some linking expressions, including “Consequently” and “Finally,” do not show a clear relationship between the ideas they connect. Plan each paragraph around one main point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use pronouns and transitions only when their references and relationships are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary such as “senior citizens,” “technology,” “local,” and “detrimental challenge,” and you use some phrases to introduce examples and contrast. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “newspaper,” “read,” and “people,” while frequent spelling and word-choice errors make several claims hard to understand. Examples include “soceity,” “snakes” (apparently intended to mean snacks), “prienter newspaper,” and “lunched this projects.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “with free of cost” and “take imformation from the local guide.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing print and digital media; precise wording will make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “owing to.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “majority of many numerous homes … try to read” has an unclear subject and agreement, while “many urban countries has to innovation” does not form a clear grammatical clause. The conclusion’s “reading books it make” also combines structures incorrectly. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Review singular/plural agreement, articles, and verb forms before using longer structures.
