In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, technology had developed a lot and it had made humain life more easier in comapre to past. People can get any thing they want with a few clockes, like that now humans can read books and newspaper online without purchasing it. Some people belive that in future no one will buy printed newspaper or books because they can get it online with free of cost. Further in this essay I'm gonna explaind its reasons and in the end I will mention my prospactive.

It is true, that in future citizens will prefer more online reading instade of buying physical newspaper or bookes because they can read anywere they want. Subsequently people can carry more easily without loosing them like physical books or newspaper.

However, it has some side effects suchas too much screen time can cause some vision problems to the reader and because of that reason people can be more addicted to their mobile phone and leptops. Sometime it affects to the brain and pupiels can loose their memories for short term. As a result on last sunday I had readed too late in my moile phone and that cause me the headche at next morning.

To conclude, I believe that people should buy physical newspapers or books so they can not face that proble of loosing their eye site. For childerns their parents should take care and limit the time for using the screen. As a result they have more time to information and inhance their knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the topic and give a position: you recognise that online reading may become more popular, but conclude that people should continue buying printed materials because of possible screen-related problems. The discussion of portability and health effects is relevant. However, the task asks whether printed newspapers and books will disappear because online content is free, and the response does not fully examine that prediction or the role of free access. Your position also shifts from describing what people may prefer to saying what they should do. Develop both sides with clearer reasons and examples, and state consistently whether you agree, disagree, or partly agree.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about online reading, a contrasting paragraph about screen effects, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “However” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the discussion. Overall, the ideas can be followed, but progression is uneven: the first body paragraph gives only one brief reason, while the next moves from vision problems to addiction, memory, and a personal headache example without clearly connecting these points. Some references, such as “that problem,” are also vague. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and support it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “physical books,” “screen time,” “vision problems,” and “addicted,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the writing less clear or natural, such as “with free of cost,” “loosing,” and “eye site.” There is also repetition of basic terms such as “people,” “read,” and “books.” Build a more precise range for discussing digital access and print media, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, use “at no cost” rather than “with free of cost,” and distinguish “lose” from “loose.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a result structure beginning “As a result.” However, control of verb forms, sentence construction, and agreement is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “technology had developed” where the present perfect is needed for a change continuing to now, “I had readed” instead of a correct past form, and “that cause me” instead of “that caused me.” Some sentences also combine several ideas without clear grammatical links. Practise accurate past and present forms, articles, and clause boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
