In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In future people would be interested less in buying printed news papers and books because they would be able to read everything they want online without paying any cost .

I completely agree with them who believed printed information will disapper in future. .There are many factors which effects my this believe . The main reason behind this is that we are living in the age of technology . We used to do many things online if comapre these with past we have to did them offline . For instance , few year ago we used to book a cinema ticket physically .But now we can book them online in few clicks .It helps us a lot in order to save time and money .

The second example I would like to share is from educational system . There are a lots of improvments done in this sector for example online classes and growing towards paperless education .So , these are experinces that effects my believe .

There are also many other things that had changed with passage of time .

On the other hand there are also people who likes to read news paper and books .Particularly the people who loved their traditions . I think there will be some people who liked to buy books and news paper for their mental satisfaction .But there would be less in numbers .

In conclusion , after few decades there will be no one who would like to buy printed books and news paper. The reason behind it I shared earlier are enough .So , I completely agree with those who believed that the printed information will disapper in future

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you say you completely agree that printed information will disappear, and you acknowledge that some people will continue buying books and newspapers. The examples about booking cinema tickets online and paperless education are relevant to the broader shift towards digital services. However, they do not directly explain why people will be able to read newspapers and books online for free, which is the central claim in the prompt. The reasons are also briefly stated rather than developed: for example, explain how free access, convenience, or changing reading habits could reduce purchases. Your conclusion repeats your view but does not add a developed final insight. Addressing the specific claim more fully would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from your opinion and supporting examples to a contrasting view and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “The second example” and “On the other hand” signal the intended relationships. However, progression within the main body is limited: the cinema-ticket example is not clearly connected to buying printed reading material, and the education example is introduced without explaining its link to free online books or newspapers. Several transitions are mechanical or repetitive, including repeated references to “my belief” and “the reason behind it.” Develop each paragraph around one clear point and use explicit links between the evidence and your position to make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “printed information,” “paperless education,” “mental satisfaction,” and “traditions.” These choices help communicate your general argument, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “effects my this believe,” “growing towards paperless education,” and “less in numbers.” Spelling errors such as “disapper,” “comapre,” and “improvments” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use precise collocations and check word forms and spelling. For instance, explain that digital access may “reduce demand for printed publications” rather than relying on broad phrases about technology changing things.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. For example, “we have to did them offline” uses an incorrect verb form, while “there are a lots of improvements” has an agreement and article problem. In “people who likes to read,” the verb does not agree with the plural subject. Punctuation also creates awkward breaks, as in “I completely agree… .There are many factors.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then check tense, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
